There was a swim meet this morning, IFLY vs ACAC Dual Meet (2-9-14). Asen competed in two events:
100 yd backstroke, 1:47 (previously 1:50.51)
50 yd breaststroke, 52.82 (previously 1:02.71)

Pre SuperBowl Talk Assen Olivo

We are watching the Superbowl tonight. Seattle Seahawks vs Denver Broncos. Assen is in his last year at Borlaug Elementary School. He is doing pretty good at school, particularly Science. His best friend is Emma Grace.

Track Day

Borlaug kids, 5th and 6th graders went to City-High's track today. They ran and had a fun track and field meet with some other elementary schools. Assen enjoyed the 'Tug-of-war.' Press-citizen put some very nice videos on line.

Eleven years old

We celebrated Assen's eleventh birthday yesterday at Los Portales. We sang Happy Birthday and ate a delicious fried ice cream! We drank large margaritas --not Assen. Assen loves Taylor Swift music and everything about her. He is thinking about getting a Nook or a Kindle for his birthday.

Gotcha Day

Celebrated Assen's gotcha day!  We watched the video of his adoption. We also found some videos of orphanages in Bulgaria --very sad. Went to Cheky-Cheese in Cedar Rapids and had dinner at the Outback in Coralville.
Assen is growing up. He is reading better every day and he likes swimming.

Monday

Today, my grandparents are here. I played with Issi yesterday. I have a fairy garden and me and Issy both have our own fairy garden. Now, we both have an iron fairy. Yesterday, I went swimming to Mariana's birthday party.
